About the Electoral Board

The Cook County Officers Electoral Board (the “Board”) is composed of the Cook County Clerk, or designee, who sits as Chairman of the Board; Cook County State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx, or her designee; and Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Dorothy Brown, or her designee. The Board hears objections to candidacies and petitions for the submission of questions of public policy. It specifically takes up the question of whether the nomination papers or petitions are in proper form, were filed within the time and under the conditions required by law and any other issues necessary to determining whether the papers or petitions are legally valid. Candidates and objectors will find above important information and forms that will assist them when they practice before the Board.
