Cook County Clerk David Orr Statement on House Committee Vote to Eliminate Election Assistance Commission
I am appalled by the House Republicans’ committee vote to eliminate the bipartisan, independent Election Assistance Commission.
I am continuously and deeply disturbed by the direction and actions of this new administration.
Cook County and the City of Chicago have a long history of welcoming immigrants, who have made great cultural, economic and civic contributions to our city and county.

Cook County Clerk David Orr’s office held a ballot position lottery for school board candidates in the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election who filed their nominating papers earlier this month at 8 a.m. on the first day of filing or in last hour of the filing period.
Filing locations, dates and times have been finalized for school board candidates running in the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election. School board candidates will file with the Cook County Clerk’s office.
