Marvin Camras invented magnetic tape recording, which led to audio cassettes, floppy disks, video tape recorders and much more. He secured over 500 patents, received his B.S., M.S., and Honorary Doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and served as a senior scientific advisor at the IIT Research Institute. Camras was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1985.
