Eddie Vedder had a turbulent childhood that sent him moving back and forth between Chicago and California. When he entered the music scene, he was known as a surfer from San Diego. Vedder’s break came when he dubbed his vocals onto a demo tape by some Seattle rockers; this launched the legendary group Pearl Jam. Since their debut album Ten, Pearl Jam has been one of the premiere rock bands worldwide. Vedder has also collaborated with music legends such as Neil Young and Pete Townshend.
