Voters turned out from the onset of Early Voting, with 1,086 voters casting ballots in the first 90 minutes, Cook County Clerk David Orr announced Monday.

"People are excited about this election and ready to take advantage of Early Voting's convenience," Orr said.

Orland Park Village Hall had 81 voters between 8:30 and 10 a.m. South Holland Village Hall had 78 voters, followed by Matteson Village Hall with 68 and the Evanston Civic Center with 66.

This is the first Presidential Election when Illinois voters can participate in Early Voting, which runs from Oct. 13-30. There are 43 suburban Cook County locations plus the Clerk's downtown office, 69 W. Washington.

Eric Davis, of Oak Park, went the extra mile to be among the first to cast an Early Voting ballot. As if waiting for concert tickets, Davis lined up at 7:30 a.m. to guarantee his spot.

"I got here early because I really wanted to be first to vote," he said.
