On Wednesday, May 10, 2006 the Cook County Clerk’s office conducted a lottery to determine the order in which major political parties will appear on the November 7, 2006 General Election ballot in Cook County.
As a result of the lottery, Democratic party candidates will be listed first on ballots in Cook County.
The random selection was made by Ronit Weissberg, a 17-year-old junior at New Trier High School. Weissberg worked as a precinct assistant in the March primary.
The lottery was held under the supervision of Cook County Clerk David Orr and his staff.
