Most suburban Cook County election contests unchallenged in April 5 local elections

Nearly 60 percent of election contests will be uncontested next Tuesday in suburban Cook County, Clerk David Orr announced Monday.
In local races for offices including village trustee, school board member and park district commissioner, only 287 of 716 contests have more candidates than openings. Fifty-five seats are altogether without a candidate.
