The Cook County Clerk's Office conducted a ballot lottery today to determine the order in which the established political parties will appear on the ballot in the November 5, 2024, Presidential Election, and the top spot will go to Democratic candidates.

Cook County Clerk Cedric Giles, along with officials from the Clerk's Elections Unit, held a public ballot drawing that included entries for the Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican parties to determine party ballot order for countywide races.

As a result of the drawing, Democratic candidates will be first on the ballot in all of suburban Cook County, as well as on all Chicago ballots. Republican candidates will occupy the second spot, and Libertarian candidates will be third on the ballot in any applicable races.
