David Orr, Cook County Clerk

Overseas and Military Voters

Suburban Cook County voters who live overseas or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces may register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot by completing a Federal Postcard Application form.

If you meet the special circumstances criteria below, the Clerk's office will accept faxed or e-mailed copies of the completed and SIGNED Federal Postcard Application.

You must still submit the applications by mail before the deadline, but taking advantage of fax or e-mail will expedite delivery of your absentee ballot.

The Clerk's office will also e-mail or fax you the absentee ballot at a number or address submitted on the application if you meet the criteria.

You must return your voted ballot to the Clerk's office by mail.
